1,000 Fellowships in 183 Days

Help us help you find a fellowship!

Sending a huge thank you to all our IndieGoGo backers!

Thanks again for all your support, we wouldn't be able to do this without you!

Our Story

We are Vicki Johnson and Ryan Johnson, the creators of ProFellow.com. We hope you’ll join the movement to create the largest online database of professional and academic fellowships in the world!

We know there is over $1 billion in fellowships available that can help talented people of all citizenships gain new experience, enhance their resume, travel abroad or pay for graduate school. The problem - this funding is hard to find! We hope to change this by launching ProFellow.com and our goal is to add 1,000 fellowships to the database by March 31, 2012.

Wondering what fellowships are? Fellowships are short-term, funded opportunities to do something exceptional. There are fellowships for teachers, nurses, researchers, students, artists, social entrepreneurs, scientists, lawyers, journalists, activists, engineers, architects… the list goes on!

The Impact

ProFellow.com will be a one-of-a-kind online directory of fellowship programs offering over 10,000 awards worth more than $100 million in funding!

What We Need & What You Get

We are kindly asking friends, family, colleagues and complete strangers for a contribution towards $10,000 so that we can work full-time adding fellowships from October 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012. That’s an average of 5 fellowships per day, every day, for 183 days.

This year, Ryan and I moved from Washington, DC to Wellington, NZ where I am working on a disaster research project with support from an Ian Axford Fellowship in Public Policy. When my fellowship ends on August 31, 2011, we plan to both work full-time on the website. $10K would fill the gap of money we need to cover our basic living expenses while we do our fellowship research and blog how-to tips on how to find and earn fellowships.

If we raise more than $10,000 we’ll extend the research plan and add MORE fellowships! If we raise less, we'll plug forward and spend as much time adding fellowships as our funding allows. In any case, no matter what we raise, we plan to work towards adding as many fellowships to ProFellow.com as we can, and we'll seek additional help from universities, fellowship programs and individuals interested in fellowships.

Check out our prizes for your contribution! In addition, all IndieGoGo bakers will be entered into a drawing for 4 different prizes, so be sure to become a backer soon for more chances to win!
