I have a great passion for making healthy food that is fun for kids. I am also a vegetarian and a big fan of hardboiled eggs but I was always bothered by the “smooshy” texture of the yolk. In the end, what really triggered me to find another way to eat eggs were my kids, who refused to eat the egg yolk.
The egg is the most accessible, nutrient-dense food and is defined as “super-food” critical for children's development. The yolk contains 99% of the eggs’ nutritional value. Among many others, the yolk contains B-complex vitamin choline, which is an essential nutrient for brain development that is associated with better neurological function and reduced inflammation (just Google “egg super food for kids” and you’ll get the scope).
When I made my first eggs scrambled in the shell and brought it to my kids for their verdict, I was amazed. They ate them all and asked for more. Never had my home been so full of my kids’ friends, followed by their parents coming over to see the “magic” of their kids eating the whole egg with real enjoyment. The parents also tasted the new egg, loved it and came up with great ideas for some cool serving options. Talking to the parents, I discovered that most of them had the same problem, but thought it was only their kids who wouldn’t eat egg yolks and never discussed it socially. The fact that very many kids don’t eat the yolk may be one of the “best kept secrets” in the world. To evaluate the size of this problem, we ran surveys in the US, Canada and Israel. The results showed that over one third of the kids don’t eat the egg yolk. In the surveys we also presented the “in-the-shell” scrambled egg, and the vast majority liked it. We also ran focus groups in Canada and egg tastings at family events in Israel. Kids and adult alike showed the same amazement and excitement about the new egg.
My own kids’ aversion to egg yolks introduced me to the global nature of the phenomenon and in the end acted as the trigger pushing me to commercialize my invention.
Eggs differ one from the other by size, temperature, age, the feed of the chicken, etc. It has been our mission for nearly three years to create a reliable device that perfectly scrambles any egg in its shell, in the shortest time possible, without breaking the shell and ensuring the egg doesn’t burst when being boiled.
Initially, it involved building models based on processor-driven servo motors, with the purpose of experimenting and understanding the physics of in-shell egg mixing and calculating the perfect torques and cycles required for the most effective process. But finally we cracked the code and came up with the right algorithm.
In the next phase, we built a few microprocessor-based electrical models, which worked perfectly
but we wanted it better...
Eggxer is the exciting result of the third development phase. It is manually operated, highly effective, portable, affordable and needs no electrical power for operation. It is only the LED light that operates on batteries.
Successful Lab Tests
As part of the development and for assuring that the freshness and quality of the
new egg remains the same after being scrambled in its shell, we ran lab tests
on hundreds of eggs along their entire life cycle. All results were successful. Moreover, it was discovered that after the new egg is hardboiled and stored in the fridge, it maintains its freshness for 30 days (as opposed to 5 days for regular hardboiled egg).
All our in-shell egg mixing technologies and outcomes are worldwide patent pending.
For countless months, we have been working like crazy to turn our vision into a reality. We’re nearly ready to set up full-scale manufacturing so that your Eggxer can be delivered as soon as possible. We take this last crucial step seriously, and we’ll need your support to complete the tooling and to do the job right. That’s why we’ve turned to Indiegogo to get the production lines up and running!
If you decide to pitch in, you’ll be one of the first to get the new Eggxer. But more importantly, you’ll play a huge part in bringing this novelty to the global mass markets and contributing to a better world of natural nutrition.
We can’t wait to see your feedback and ideas for culinary options with the new egg!

Risks and challenges
In any human endeavor there will always be risks and challenges… but a good team will plan well, bring the right people on board and put in place procedures to deal with any and all contingencies. With our team, we have worked with top business professionals, designers and industrial engineers. We have built and thoroughly tested our prototype. We have identified manufactures who can meet our product manufacturing requirements. We have sourced the raw materials necessary for manufacturing and we have put in place the shipping and warehousing logistics necessary to deliver the pre-orders within the time frame specified. The only variable and it is potentially outside of our control, would be delays in shipping caused by disruption in world energy supplies or labor disputes with the contracted shipper… none of which we consider likely to impact our progress within the next few months.
