The Voice of Goodwill was founded in 1949 by the late Rev. Nathan Wheeler and the late Dr. Laurence C. Jones of the Piney Woods School.

The Voice of Goodwill is very significant to the community because of its family content and traditional value. It's very strong with the mature and elderly audience, providing a type of church service to those who are less mobile. It is also tapping into the 18-49 demographics by showcasing local talent and youth performers. Undoubtedly, the ministry is a touch of tradition that is needed now and for the future. It has featured nationally known gospel artist as well as thousands of local artist
