I’m a writer, photographer, software engineer, and native bee nerd.
My closest brush with the news came last year, when I found some Western bumblebees in an unexpected place. I spent most of the preceding twenty years thinking about bumblebee foraging behavior, bioinformatics, and insect photography. I’m also a part-time instructor in backcountry navigation for the Seattle Mountaineers. I didn’t know that I was training to walk to a spot on a map, find some bees, record what I found, and help wring some science out of the results, but life is funny that way.
