Laura Thompson b.1968, Toronto, Canada. My name is Laura Thompson. I am a classically trained Canadian painter. In 2010, my husband (Frank Rekrut, sculptor) and I decided to move our studio from the beautiful Niagara region of Ontario, Canada to the historic centre of Florence, Italy. The creative atmosphere of Florence, the cultural diversity, the contrast of modern and ancient design, the historic architecture and Renaissance art all provide constant inspiration for new works.
