Kontras Quartet

Admired for their virtuosity and energy, the Kontras Quartet is currently in residence in Chicago. “Kontras”, which means “contrasts” in Afrikaans, is a fitting name for a unique ensemble comprised of artists from Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. The Quartet’s recent performances include concerts at Chicago’s Symphony Center, the Juilliard School, and MerleFest (with the Kruger Brothers); and TV appearances on NBC and PBS and broadcasts on classical radio stations nationwide.
