Gardener with a weakness for kittens

I am a volunteer at the Funktown Farm Community Garden in Eastlake, Oakland, on Lake Merritt. We have some feral cats in our garden, and when one of them had kittens I fell into the role of being the manager of their care, being a self-(under)employed working-from-home consultant living right across the street from the garden. I've organized "Team Kitten" -- abt 10 people from among our community of gardeners and animal lovers -- and we are collectively trying to raise funds for the kittens.
