<p>Rowena started her career in film and TV, 15 years ago as an assistant editor on award winning feature films like <strong><em>Head On</em></strong><strong> </strong>and<em> <strong>Australian Rules</strong></em>. Rowena has edited diverse stories such as the indigenous children’s television series <strong><em>Double Trouble</em></strong> to the locust feature documentary <strong><em>Memoirs of a Plague</em></strong><em>,</em> which screened in competition at IDFA in 2010 and Hot Docs in 2011. As a filmmaker Rowena engages daily with story, structure, rhythm and performance. She has taught editing at leading Australian schools such as <strong><em>Sydney Film School</em></strong><em>, <strong>AFTRS</strong></em><strong> </strong>and <strong><em>NIDA</em></strong><em>. </em></p> <p> </p> <p>Rowena made 2D animations for the online project <strong><em>The Lunch Box Project</em></strong> (<a href="http://www.lunchboxproject.com.au/">www.lunchboxproject.com.au</a>), the documentary <strong><em>Pieces of Me</em></strong> and animated hand drawn sequences for the short drama films <strong><em>Encyclopaedia Britannica</em></strong> and <strong><em>Autumn Moon</em></strong>, which screened at <strong><em>Sydney Film Festival</em></strong> 2006 and was a finalist in the <strong><em>Rushes Soho London Festival</em></strong> 2007.</p> <p>Rowena first fully animated short film <strong><em>Letter Tape</em></strong><em></em> was partly funded by Screen NSW as part of the highly sort after Emerging Film Makers Fund and is screening in competition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Sydney Film Festival in June 2012.</p> <p><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-AU;"><br /></span></p> <!--EndFragment--> <p> </p>
