Honolulu, Hawaii, United States

Blue Un Sok Kim has been a translator, editor, and writer for the last 10 years. His writings and opinions on film have appeared in the online arts journal Hydra Magazine, the cinephile social networking site MUBI, and the online cinema journals They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? and desistfilm. His filmmaking career began in 2011 after winning an online poker tournament that netted him an $8,000 prize. He parlayed approximately half of that into filmmaking equipment and spent the other half on strippers and booze, which he feels has given him the requisite life training for a career in filmmaking. Kanaka is his first feature film.
