<style>  </style> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Helvetica;mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;mso-ansi-language:DE" lang="DE">Gretta Louw is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice seeks to explore the potential of art as a means of investigating individual, cultural and universal psychological phenomena. Often drawing on current and historical theories of psychological functioning, the artist seeks to test the boundaries and peculiarities of the human psyche, particularly its unconscious elements. Louw was born in South Africa but grew up in Australia; she received an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Western Australia in 2002, subsequently living in Japan and New Zealand before settling in Berlin. In recent years she has received a number of institutional grants from German and Australian funding bodies, was shortlisted for the OK.Video Festival prize, has been an artist in residence at the Glasshouse, Tel Aviv and Flux Factory, New York, and has exhibited in New York, Berlin, Jakarta, and Tel Aviv.</span><span style="mso-ansi-language:EN-AU"></span></p>
