Executives often wish that vacationers returned to work more frequently than employees. McKinsey interviewed nearly half of the executives and discovered that 49% of them expect at least some employees to return to work in the period of July to December. This compares well with only 55 percent of office employees, who also hope to see at least a small proportion of their workforce returning to work regularly. This means that, although the number of people who have reported plans for vacation has increased, only a small portion of those who are planning to return actually leave.
