She was fierce, wild, rebellious, a gypsy traveling the countryside, founding seventeen monasteries throughout her lifetime. She wrote many books, one of them banned, and fifteen thousand letters before she died. The Inquisition persecuted her for decades, but she was victorious, achieving what she set out to do.
