Born and raised in Hawaii, descended from Hawaiian ancestry, Kalae started her belly dance journey at the tender age of 15 under the direction of Jean Yanagawa. She now has over 16 years of Belly Dance experience under her belt. Kalae began teaching in 2004, and shortly after formed her own Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Company, Shakti Dance Movement. As lead Choreographer and Artistic Director Kalae is continually expanding her dance knowledge by first and foremost being a staunch student.
