I founded the School of European Swordsmanship in Helsinki in 2001, and have watched it grow beyond all my expectations, thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of a legion of students. We are now much more widespread than I can reasonably cope with. I teach this Art because there is no better way in which I could spend my working life. The School provides a service to aspiring swordsmen, but also and equally importantly, a welcoming environment to all seekers of the Art, regardless of so-called "talent".  When not teaching, training, writing books or doing research, I charge about after my two little girls, and occasionally get some woodwork done.
