The Mission of Octavia Films: A Nonprofit for Women is to support emerging female artists in Canadian Independent Film. We award grants to women filmmakers and conduct workshops to teach high-school-age girls the basics of the craft. We also sponsor the annual Breakthroughs Film Festival, the only festival devoted exclusively to short films by new generation (18-30) Canadian women.
