David Martinez is a filmmaker and political activist based in San Francisco. He has worked as a videographer in Indonesia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Darfur, and Iraq, where he filmed inside besieged Fallujah in 2004. He has worked as a segment producer for the PBS series Visiones, as well as for Democracy Now!. Besides his film about Iraq, he has made a documentary about rebels in Darfur, another about Occupy Oakland, and is working on a film about Immanuel Wallerstein.
