Marie studied Film and Television Production at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Germany. Her graduation project, "Zwischen den Stühlen/To Be A Teacher", a long-term documentary about young teachers, has won several awards and was released in German cinema. She has produced a number of short films in Germany and Iran and has worked as a production assistant and 2nd AD in the film industry.
