Originaire de Sherbrooke, Francis Lussier se découvre une passion pour conter des histoires, mais sans encore trouver le medium pour les transmettre. Sur un coup de tête, il déménage à Montréal pour y étudier le cinéma. En collaboration avec Olivier Sabino, Francis crée le court métrage Misère, une réinterprétation humoristique du film/roman Misery de Stephen King, mettant en vedette Patrick Senécal comme personnage principal.
