Reserved Funds Policy

We apply a Reserved Funds Policy to help manage refunds, chargebacks, and other payment-related risks that may arise after a campaign has collected payments from backers. Reserved funds are not a fee and do not reduce the total amount earned by a creator.

In most cases, we temporarily reserve 5 percent of the total funds raised for a period of 180 days starting from the payment collection date, meaning the date when backers’ payments are successfully charged. The remaining funds are paid out according to the standard payout schedule. The reserved amount always belongs to the creator and is held only as a precaution.

The reserve is used to cover refunds requested by backers, payment disputes, and chargebacks that may occur after payments have been collected. This allows these issues to be handled without delays or negative balances while rewards are being produced and delivered.

If a creator has fully delivered all products or rewards to backers before the end of the 180-day reserve period, they can contact our support team to request an early release of the reserved funds. We may ask for reasonable confirmation that delivery has been completed before releasing the reserve.

While reserving 5 percent for 180 days is our standard approach, different terms may apply in certain situations. In exceptional cases, the reserve may be waived entirely. For projects that are assessed as higher risk, the reserve percentage or duration may be increased. If different reserve terms apply, the creator will always be informed in advance.
