Yuri Vieira was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He studied at the University of Brasilia – where he attended a course on cinema taught by Nelson Pereira dos Santos – and, after two years being secretary of the writer Hilda Hilst (1930-2004), he works today as a screenwriter and video director. “The Academic Tragicomedy”, his first book, was published in 1998 and ESPELHO (Mirror) is his first short film as a director.
