Hello,
Thank you for reading about this filmmaking project WORN. I hope it inspires you to donate and help us make it happen.
** NEW VIDEO in the GALLERY **
I am a writer/director with a short script, a great cast and a fantastic crew ready to make a compelling movie that takes place on the streets of Sacramento, California's capitol city.
I've been making movies since high school, but really got the bug after college when I started to tell bigger stories. My first feature film On the Fringe was shot in 1999, premiered in 2001 and was released on DVD in 2006. It is available on Amazon and can be found on IMDb.
With WORN, I wanted to get some things right that I didn't quite manage to do with On the Fringe, only on a smaller scale. After seeing some films screen at a Sacramento film festival years ago, the idea came to me and I quickly set to writing a father/son story with a redemptive ending.

Since writing the script, which is now a tight 21 pages, I've had the chance to see a table read recorded and a discussion that followed. I also have the lead roles filled with an amazing duo who I have worked closely with in front of the camera. James Anthony Cotton (SAG actor) is attached to play Stuart, the cantankerous father, and Ron Elwell is on board to play Paul, his son who was abandoned as a child. Other cast members include James Munch, a Sacramento actor who is no stranger to independent films.
The script was a Finalist at the 2010 Writers Place Screenplay Contest and was 1st Runner Up at the 2011 Sacramento International Film Festival.

I am reaching out with the hopes of connecting with an audience hungry for this type of dramatic human interest story.
Movies not only take a lot of time, but they require a good amount of resources and funding to fall into place. Your donation, any donation, will help pay for: SAG contracts, location permits, food, lodging, any equipment rentals, costumes, props, post-production, DVDs, festival submissions and more.

Since this will be a Red Brick Films production, I am working closely with cinematographer John Tulin who lensed the film Mind's Eye which took Best Feature Drama at the 2010 Hollywood East Film Festival. John and I have also teamed up together to shoot promotional materials for various projects as well as collaborating on a feature production in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2008. For the production of WORN, we are aiming for a very real and gritty feeling often associated with the films of the late 60s and 70s; a bit cinema-verite with some contemporary realism.
When finished, WORN will become a calling card for my writing and directing ambitions as well as for all involved. We plan to shoot on the Canon 5D and the Panasonic HPX-300, both HD cameras.
If this sounds like a promising project to get behind, your donation would be greatly appreciated. Please pass this information and link along to others who you feel might be interested in such a film.
Thank you for your involvement!
