Vision is a story about Professor Lydia Arden, a robotics science prodigy who’s miraculous creations have probed the bottom of the ocean and the surface of Mars. Now she’s pushing her own knowledge to the very limits with her newest creation, the Military Autonomous Robotic Combatant (MARC). If she succeeds, her brainchild may effectively replace human beings on the battlefield with robots. Hopelessly stuck on MARC’s vision comprehension system, Lydia’s hermit-like existence is thrown into chaos when she is compelled to take on a new student who reminds her what it’s like to live among other people once more and forces her to ask herself the question: how does a person who has lost touch with their own humanity teach a computer to think like a human?
This feature will be shot using the stunning new Canon 7D high definition camera with 35mm lenses, the very same technology used to shoot this year’s season finale of House. Award winning music video and feature film director and cinematographer Stacy Davidson (Sweatshop) will shoot and direct, based on an original screenplay by Arthur Vincie.
The money you put into this film will go toward sound equipment, lights, camera rigging, and other cinematic equipment rentals, as well as providing much needed meals for our tireless cast and crew members. Our award winning special effects artist Mike Oliver will also need a small budget to create the animatronic robot “MARC”. After postproduction, certain funds will be allocated toward festival entry fees, press kits, and other promotional expenses.
This is your chance to put your name on a feature motion picture and contribute to the development of regional independent films. Your support is appreciated more than you know!
