Nathan Adloff

About Me

Since his arrival to Chicago in 2003, Nathan Adloff has worked on several locally-shot studio films as well as many local independent films with friends and colleagues such as Joe Swanberg and Frank V. Ross. His short comedies UNTIED STRANGERS, and the more recent IRREGULAR FRUIT, both won special Jury Prizes for Best Local Short in 2008 and Best Short Comedy in 2009 in the Lake County Film Festival. His latest short film I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH is currently in post-production. He co-wrote BACKFLIP, a script about an overweight 12-year-old girl obsessed with gymnastics. It was awarded an Honorable Mention in the first Killer Films/Massify short film contest, including a comment from Christine Vachon that called it An engaging and well-written piece with great potential.

Nathan acted in his first leading role this year in BLACKMAIL BOYS, an exhilarating tale of blackmail and extortion, dealing with the issues of hypocrisy from religious leaders and their extra curricular activities theyd rather the world never discover. The film won the Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature and the Audience Choice Award at the 2010 SHOUT! Birmingham GLBT Film Festival (a branch of the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival).

Nathan is gearing up to direct another feature NATE & MARGARET, about two unlikely best friends. He co-wrote the script, which is based on true stories and Natalie West (ROSEANNE) is officially attached to star as Margaret. Funding for this film will begin soon, with plans to shoot later this year!
