We have migrated Beaver Cola to this site www.beavercola.com, as funding on our Indie GoGo page closed Friday March 30, 2012 11:59PM. We’d like to send a very special thank you to all our pledgers & supporters! This has helped us TREMENDOUSLY!

We raised $905, just shy of our $1000 goal. Though we did not reach our goal, we were given the option of keeping the funds we raised.

This is the first of several projects with our overall goal of raising $4000 for new computers and software for tonyteach.

If you missed out on the specially priced items (T-Shirts, SALE Priced DVDs) here on Indie GoGo, we still have a few of those items available at www.beavercola.com.

NOTE: All DIGITAL REWARDS (DVD as a Download, Tonyteach Membership access) will be emailed Monday, April 9, 2012.

PHYSICAL REWARDS (DVDs, T-SHIRTS) Will ship Monday April 16, 2012. If you purchased a T-Shirt from our Indie GoGo page, you will receive an email shortly to get your size & “castoreum money-shot” preference :)

Thanks Again, Tony Ross

A DVD for animators and animation fans

Have you ever seen a really good animated movie, or television commercial and wondered, “Hey, how did they do that shot?”. So you rush out and buy the special edition DVD with the “Making of Featurette, only to find it’s a generic behind-the-scenes for the general public—or, as my late mentor Lou Hertz would call them, “the great unwashed. So I ask you, what featurette is out there for animators? You know the down and dirty, gritty, no-holds-barred, second after boring second of “this is exactly how we did it.

There are only a few that come to mind, so I wanted to make one.

Toon Boom DVDMy name is Tony Ross, owner and creator of tonyteach.com and I'd like to submit for your consideration a tutorial DVD. It is simply called "Anatomy of a 30-second Short – Creating Animation from Concept to Finish."

Now for the subject of our 30-second short. We came up with a lot of ideas, but none of them really stuck, until we found an article about a food additive that has been used in processed foods for the last 80 years.

Do you know what part of a beaver may be in your soda? It's called castoreum, and in layman's terms, it's the juice from the anal gland of a beaver. Sounds gross, but it's very real, and for our purposes, ripe for comedy.

The title & subject of our short is "Beaver Cola"A soda company markets its product based on the fact that the primary ingredient in their beverage comes from the "business end" of a beaver.

Beaver Cola

The DVD will show everything from the initial pitch, creating the piece in Toon Boom Animate, to the final 30 second short.

What We Need & What You Get

Our goal is to raise at least $1000 for the production and marketing of the DVD. We are also taking this opportunity to help spread the word about the tonyteach brand, which features both FREE and low cost video tutorials.

How low is our low cost? Well, we at tonyteach believe in education, and we also believe that learning should be affordable and not an exclusive privilege, nor should it put the student into debt .

That being said, for the first 600 backers who give just a $1 to our project, you will be able to pre-purchase the entire DVD as a download! Over 3 hours of Toon Boom Animate instruction, and behind the scenes that get into the very crux of "Beaver Cola."

There are only 600 "$1" pledging slots available. So, if everyone only pledges $1, the funding goal of $1,000 will obviously not be met.

We also are offering the physical DVD for $15 (S&H included) for those who prefer it, or for those who miss out on our $1 deal.

Contribute $35, and get the Beaver Cola tee shirt along with the DVD,

(Tee Shirt has a plain back, or optional "castoreum money-shot" printed on it.)

The DVD will release on Friday April 9, 2012, and will then be on sale for $25 + S&H.
