Thomas Balzer was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved to the Yukon with his family, where he graduated high school. He then moved to Victoria BC for post secondary studies in human geography and film history which, in turn led him to the Vancouver Film School. After graduating Thomas has spent the last five years filming professional and independent projects in Vancouver. Among his many 1AD credits he has recently completed his first feature documentary Playing with Blocks and is now in production of his next feature documentary Under the Chitenje.
