OUR STORY
Hello! Welcome to the fundraising page for THIS JUST IN: The Series.

Our little web comedy started as a chicken nugget of an idea, born out of the brain of one Chris J. Handley. THIS JUST IN: The Series follows a merry band of misfits who work at a second-rate morning news show in a small town market.

Through the help our amazing casting director, Kymberli McKanna, we have assembled a cast that must be seen to be believed. We've got Broadway stars, smoldering TV actors and some brilliant newcomers all who make THIS JUST IN: The Series a super exciting project to support.

You've got:

CHRIS J HANDLEY (Empire: The Series)

The incompetent weatherman

MARIA PENDOLINO (Army Wives, Locked Up Abroad)

The harried producer

LENNY WOLPE (Wicked, The Drowsy Chaperone)

The owner of the station

JACK GARRITY (Sex and the City, Days of Our Lives)

The eccentric tan anchor

HALLE MORSE (Mamma Mia!)

The new girl

DANIELLE GAINES (The Berenstain Bears Live!)

The dim make-up girl

JAKE PAQUE (Celebrity Ghost Stories)

The smooth talking reporter

NEAL BLEDSOE (Ugly Betty, Smash) and JENN LYON (The Coast of Utopia, Louie)

The arch nemeses

THIS JUST IN is directed by ISAAC KLEIN (West Side Story, Gypsy)

We're aiming to produce a ten minute pilot as an entry for the New York Television Festival contest sponsored by Comedy Central.

http://www.nytvf.com/2012_comedycentral.htm

After that, we're hoping to make another eight 10 minute episodes this spring!

I mean, you want to know what happens, right?

THE IMPACT
We set out to produce a show that would represent our brand of humor and serve as a platform for some of the amazing acting talent in New York City. This season, we were all ecstatic to learn that over 23 television shows would be filming in the New York City area and hiring local NYC actors. In order to be considered for these jobs, it's important to have material to show casting teams and directors. Producing a webseries and promoting your material online is a great way to gain experience on camera and get your name out there to propel your career forward.

WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET
We know that a 10 minute pilot doesn't seem like a long show, but it's going to take us three days to do it. And we want to DO IT RIGHT. Cash is king. We need to build a budget so that we can get:

1) A Director of Photography - We want to look good on camera, so we need someone amazing BEHIND the camera. We'd like to provide a respectable stipend to our camera artists for their work.

2) Lights and Sound - The camera people can work crazy magic, but if we don't light the actors and pick up what they're saying, it will be a dark picture that is not worth 1,000 words.

3) Transportation - We need to get our actors, crew and supplies around this crazy city. That's going to take MetroCards, gas, tolls and maybe even a big passenger van. (SHOTGUN. SERIOUSLY.)

4) Food - We want to make sure that we have healthy and delicious food available to all of our actors and crew. Craft services right now is a loaf of wonder bread and a jar of peanut butter. Help us be better than that.

5) Locations - Some of the spaces where we want to film will charge us rent. This goes back to doing it right. With this show, we really can't do it in someone's living room. With the right funds, we can rent a killer space that will really elevate our show.
