Our Story

Theatre Bizarre is a decade-old underground Halloween masquerade held annually in a run-down neighborhood just south of the now abandoned Michigan State Fair grounds.  Operating entirely outside of the law, despite being in plain sight, the show has become an international legend. In 2010 the city of Detroit moved to shut the party down, but Theatre Bizarre does not fold easily. Big Bang Film's will utilize Theatre Bizarre's deep library of historical video and still images to tell the behind-the-scenes story of the outlaw production's rise, fall and possible resurrection.

The Impact

Theatre Bizarre is the brainchild of John Dunivant, a Detroit-area artist and visionary.  Occupying nearly a block of residential lots just south of the Michigan State Fairgrounds, the semi-permanent amusement park has operated without permits or insurance for nearly a decade.  An army of volunteers builds and maintains the Dustbowl-era-traveling-carnival-inspired grounds for an annual night of revelry billed as The Greatest Masquerade on Earth. As the future of Theatre Bizarre looms, this film will help to bring international attention to the event, and possibly aid in the continuation of "The Greatest Masquerade on Earth" on it's original grounds.

What We Need & What You Get

WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this incredibly unique film.  Your donation of $35 or more will go to the actual making of the film.  From graphics and animation, editing, color correction, sound design, to the actual printing of the finished film and soundtrack.

You can be listed in the film credits as an official ASSOCIATE PRODUCER, PRODUCER or EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, since your hard earned dollars are helping to actually produce this once in a lifetime film experience.

We have several donation levels, or you can choose your own dollar amount.

$25 - Skeleton
For a donation of $25 you will be listed in the credits as an "Associate Producer" of the film, and receive a limited edition Zombo patch.

$50 - Clown
For a donation of $50 you will be listed in the credits as a "Associate Producer" of the film. We will also send you a Zombo patch, a limited-edition Zombo T-shirt.

$150 - Zombie
For a donation of $150 you will be listed in the credits as an "Associate Producer" of the film. We will also send you a Zombo patch, a limited-edition Zombo T-shirt, "Producers" VIP admission to the official Detroit premier.

$250   - Mummy
For a donation of $250 you will be listed in the credits as an "Producer" of the film. We will also send you a Zombo patch, a Limited Edition ZOMBO hoodie, "Producers" VIP access to the official Detroit premier, a signed movie poster, and a signed DVD of the film when it is released.

$500- Vampire
For a donation of $500 you will be listed in the credits as an "Producer" of the film. You will receive a Zombo patch, a Limited Edition ZOMBO hoodie, VIP access to the official Detroit premier,  a one-of-a-kind signed print of one of John Dunivant's Theatre Bizarre banner's, a signed movie poster, and a signed DVD of the film when it is released.

$1,000- Zombo
For a donation of $1,000 you will be listed in the credits as an "Executive Producer" of the film. We will send you a Zombo patch, a Limited Edition ZOMBO hoodie, VIP access to the official Detroit premier,  a one-of-a-kind signed print of one of John Dunivant's Theatre Bizarre banner's, a signed movie poster, 3 signed prints of Brett Carson's Theatre Bizarre photographs, and a signed DVD of the film when it is released.

$5,000- Hell Mouth
For a donation of $5,000 you will be listed in the credits as an "Executive Producer" of the film. We will do a screening and director's Q&A of the film in your venue of choice anywhere in the world. We will also send you a Zombo patch, a Limited Edition ZOMBO hoodie, VIP access to the official Detroit premier,  a one-of-a-kind signed print of one of John Dunivant's Theatre Bizarre banner's, a signed movie poster, 3 signed prints of Brett Carson's Theatre Bizarre photographs, and a signed DVD of the film when it is released.

$10,000- Edgar
For a donation of $10,000 you will be listed in the credits as an "Executive Producer" of the film. We will do a screening and director's Q&A of the film in your venue of choice anywhere in the world. John Dunivant will paint an actual Theatre Bizarre banner in your image and likeness.  You will go down in infamy, We will also send you a Zombo patch, a Limited Edition ZOMBO hoodie, VIP access to the official Detroit premier,  a one-of-a-kind signed print of one of John Dunivant's Theatre Bizarre banner's, a signed movie poster, 3 signed prints of Brett Carson's Theatre Bizarre photographs, and a signed DVD of the film when it is released.

Open Donation:
You can make a donation at any dollar amount you wish. We will list you at the next lowest funding tier for instance, if you donate $200, you will be listed at the Associate Producer level and receive the same gifts and access. While we will happily accept any donations under $25, but Producer credit and gifts are reserved for those people donating $25 or more.
