Our Story
Rite of Passage Theatre Company exists to facilitate opportunity for young "coming of age" theatre artists who are transitioning into the professional world. We believe that training, skill, patience, and dedication to our art must be coupled with a chance to perform in order to foster success. Rite of Passage is also dedicated to the cultivation and realization of new and thought-provoking works by both emerging and established artists.
Love Song of the Albanian Sous Chef by Robert Askins, our submission into the 2011 Festival of Independent Theatres, was accepted and is running from July 23 to August 6 at The Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas, Texas. We are asking for your help in assisting us finance this show's World Premiere.
What We Need
Love Song of the Albanian Sous Chef is, without a doubt, our biggest production to date. Without giving too much away, the story incorporates elements of magic and the supernatural, along with a strong musical undertone (it is a Love Song, after all). We are wanting to raise an additional $750 to what we already have in order to give this show a full World Premiere production. Not extravagant, but full. The money raised will go towards costume rental/purchase, set build, puppet construction, food props, as well as for necessary electrical equipment for our "magic" and live musicians.
What You Get
We are excited to be able to offer some perks to our donors! We cannot thank you enough for your support, but wanted to give you something special for being our favorites. By contributing to our campaign, you can receive ultra-cool items like: original music from our show, Rite of Passage swag and exclusives like a cast/crew cookbook, among others depending on your gift level. Check out the perks list on the right and THANK YOU SO MUCH.
