The Music and How It Came To Be:

Hi there.  Im Wendalyn - a composer, vocal sound artist and sound healer, making my home in Toronto.  My CD project SOUND DREAMING: Oracle Songs from Ancient Ritual Spaces is the culmination of my vision to empower the voice of the feminine and communicate through sound the wisdom of our interconnection with all life.  

The music originates from improvised vocal recordings I made at sacred ritual sites in Crete and Malta, where the life-giving forces of the feminine still reside. My intent was to embody the ancient mother speaking through her primordial language of sound in co-creation with my voice.

Using a wide array of resonant tones and vocal textures, I invoked the presence of the mythic goddesses by attuning myself to the exquisite architectural stone structures and aligning with the images of female figurines, sculptures of birth-giving goddesses and spiral carvings and paintings. These improvisations were then mixed with environmental and instrumental sounds to create a series of pieces or Oracle Songs to guide the listener in their evolutionary journey to a deeper creative self.

One of the special features of this recording is that the music will be released as a 2-disc set:  a regular CD in stereo format, and a DVD-Audio disc for playback in a 5-speaker system.  The multiple layers of the music will move and surround the listener, creating a full immersion sensory experience.

My Funding Goals:

With the help of other funding sources, the composing and mixing of the music is now complete. I'm now turning to individual supporters to raise $7000 needed for the manufacturing of the two-disc set, the design work, and to build a strong promotion and marketing campaign.  The recorded music will be accompanied with an 8-page booklet featuring temple images and short vignettes written to accompany each of the 6 pieces.  Artist Gareth Bate will be painting images inspired by the architecture and spiral designs of the Hypogeum Temple in Malta to use in his design of the cover and disc jacket. 
 
Your support at this time will also help in creating a strong marketing and promotional campaign using social media, blogging, and a dedicated website to function as a community hub for exchange on topics related to the music and its vision. Promotional strategies will be created to target niche markets, radio stations, and to develop a a touring itinerary. 

The music of SOUND DREAMING crosses many thresholds of experience and cultures. No matter what level of support above $25, each donation towards its completion will receive the two-disk set for helping to bring this project to fruition. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
