SOUND IT OUT will be the first fully independent, self-shot film by director Jeanie Finlay who grew up in the North East, three miles from the shop.

WHY NOW?

SOUND IT OUT records, as an independent vinyl record shop is an endangered species Over the last five years over 500 shops have closed. We want to make sure that we capture the shop and all that it means to people on film for posterity.

WHEN?
We are aiming to complete the film for International Record Store Day 2011
We will be approaching broadcasters with the film and will also submit the film to film festivals and arrange independent screenings.

WHO WE ARE
We have put together a blinding team of Film industry superstars who are all passionate about music and have credits as long as your arm.

Director: Jeanie Finlay is obsessed with music and it runs through all her feature docs. (Goth Cruise The most successful VOD title in IFC Free history! Don your best black eyeliner and run to see this film MTV, Teenland (BBC4). Currently in production: The Great Hip Hop Hoax (BBC), ORION: The Man Who Would be King)

Additional Camera: Steven Sheil When he isnt directing horror feature wrongness (Mum & Dad) he is a master of the camera (Goth Cruise, Teenland, One for the Road)

Sound Mixer: Pip Norton is a magician in the studio. She has lent her talents to an astonishing array of film, both independent and Hollywood including most recently: (Alice in Wonderland, Fantastic Mr Fox)

Executive Producer: Dunstan Bruce (Dandy Films) Dunstan is a North East native and a musical goldmine. One time singer with Chumbawamba, his latest film is Sham 69 in China

Audience Development: Sally Hodgson (Pipoca Pictures) connects artists and filmmakers with their audiences. Previous credits include Communications Executive for EM Media on Shane Meadows BAFTA winning This Is England.
