| Sonicbids Instructions |
|
Do you need music for your film? More importantly, do you need money to help license that music? Use Sonicbids to find both.
|
RAISES FUNDS: When a musician makes a song submission, that artist will pay a delivery fee between $5 and $10. For each song your project receives, Sonicbids and IndieGoGo will pay you 25% of that fee. |
|
$500 MUSIC-IN-FILM GRANT: In addition to the submission revenue, two IndieGoGo members will be selected to receive a Sonicbids Music-In-Film Grant of $500 to use towards the licensing of music for their project. |
Over 14,000 filmmakers, music licensors, and events have partnered with Sonicbids to find the best music from emerging, independent artists to use in their projects. Put out a call for song submissions and raise money at the same time. It's simple and easy. Here's how to do it:
| 1. |
Start by viewing the Sonicbids "promoter" tour here and fill out the registration page. It's free and takes 2 minutes. |
| 2. |
When prompted, click to "Open a Drop Box" and select "Film Licensing Opportunity" from the dropdown menu. Continue through the Drop Box "Wizard," entering info about your film, your mission, the plot, specific music queues (if you have them), and the kind of songs or genres you're looking for.
Use the promo code "GoGo" in the Notes field to be eligible for fundraising and film grants. The info you supply in the Wizard will serve as both your call for submissions and your grant application. You MUST enter the promo code "GoGo" in the Wizard Notes field to be eligible. |
| 3. |
When you've completed the Wizard, a representative at Sonicbids will receive it and call you to review the info with you. |
Sonicbids will never, ever require that you give up any rights to your work. We're friendly and helpful -- call us and see: 617.502.1322 (ask for Benjy).

| Sonicbids FAQs |
|
Questions are good. Here are a few specific to you, Sonicbids, and the Music-In-Film Grant:
| 1. |
Who can use Sonicbids, and where do I start? |
|
Sonicbids is available to anyone looking to book or license music (over 14,000 promoters already use it), but the filmmaker fundraising program together with the Music-In-Film Grant is currently available only to IndieGoGo members. Sign up as a "Promoter" at www.sonicbids.com but make sure to read the instructions listed on IndieGoGo first. We strongly recommend watching the short video tour here. |
| 2. |
Are specific music queues required? |
|
No, but if you can supply them, that would be awesome. The more specifics you offer, the more info our musician community will have, and the better the submissions you'll receive. |
| 3. |
What are my obligations? Do I have to select music submitted to me? |
|
After the submission period (approximately 45 days), you are responsible for reviewing each one and notifying the artists whether or not you'd like to use their music for your project. You are not contractually obligated to select any music from the submissions, but we think you'll find the material you want to use. |
| 4. |
Who pays me and when do I get paid? |
|
Sonicbids handles the funds and payment process from musicians, but IndieGoGo will pay you directly after you fulfill your review and notification obligations. This revenue counts towards your IndieGoGo fundraising goal. |
| 5. |
Do I have to give up the rights to any of my work? |
|
No. It's your work, and we wouldn't ask you to do that. |
