Our Story
Hello, we are trying to raise enough
finance to make a promotional pilot for our new TV comedy show- Sofa Surfer.
Separately we have written and
performed stand-up comedy in the UK and written various TV, features,
commercials, and award winning shorts.
Together we want to bring this
generation the new television comedy that reflects a life style we fear
but may only just be around the corner.
So if you like 'Arrested Development'
'Spaced', '30 Rock', 'The Inbetweeners',
'The Office' and 'Alan
Partridge' as much as us, then we think you'll enjoy Sofa Surfer.
The Impact
Sofa
Surfer follows the evolution or devolution of Dom, a lovable but down
-on- his luck- housing benefits officer who himself becomes homeless
when work relocates him back to his home town of Milton Keynes - the very place
he thought he escaped years ago.
In
the grip of having the worst year of his life, with his dad dying and all his inheritance
being blown by his ex- fiancée, Dom is forced to live a lie.
Each
episode sees Dom needing to stay at a different persons
sofa and reconnect with old friends, old flames and people from his
childhood until he can sort out his situation.
Posing
the question: can we ever really escape our past?
What We Need & What You Get
We
have worked our knackers off to get to this stage but now the real work is to
come. Now we have to shoot it.
We are asking all our friends and family to help as we want it to look like REAL TV!
As we need to showcase to TV commissioning editors and exec-producers that the show
is funny, has longevity and audience appeal.
We've
already got a great team assembled and are asking some well known comedy names for cameos. We'll announce exactly who as soon as possible.
BUT we
need just enough money to cover transport and food for the actors and crew
plus a location and then post production for a picture grade and sound mix upon
completion.
EVERYONE is working for free because they believe in the project.
