About Me

Sally Kewayosh is from the Walpole Island First Nation, with both Ojibwa and Cree ancestry. As a First Nation woman, Sally creates films that are inherently influenced by her heritage and overtly exemplifies First Nation culture. While ingrained in the team atmosphere at New York University, she is learning how to make her vision of uplifting the First Nations image through celluloid a reality. Already, her first short, Smoke Break (2006), made at NYU gained critical acclaim and is still a fan favourite among the First Nation community. Sally is a Writer, Producer and Director.
