Since York University Film School in 1973, Ernie has devoted his career to film production and educational exhibit design with a focus on environmentalism and social justice.
His credits include documentaries for CBC, the National Film Board and National Geographic. He has production-designed four seasons of Eaux Troubles for the Quebec Discovery Channel and produced and directed several documentaries - on co-operatives, energy and environmental issues.
Ernie has researched, written and designed interpretive exhibits from coast to coast and in the US for provincial and federal historic sites, nature interpretive centres, traveling exhibits and permanent museum galleries.
During all the years of professional work outlined above, Ernie raised four children and volunteered his time in the areas of environmental sustainability and social justice. He has worked with the Canadian and BC Environmental Networks, Morrell Nature Sanctuary, the Georgia Strait Alliance, Council of Canadians and many other NGOs. Ernie is a published author of short stories and poetry.
