I was an advertising copywriter for 10 years, and was fortunate to work
for creative and ethical advertising agencies — I never had to sell war toys or cigarettes, and I learned how to tell stories on film. Some of them won local and national awards, including the LA Belding and NY Art Directors Club.

I am also a commercial and fine art photographer, television producer for community access television and an independent filmmaker.
