We are Spontaneous Thin Air Radio (STAR) based in Boulder , Colorado.

Posted above is the video for one of our early demo songs, Star Shine. This song was recently released on a compilation CD called Differentiate, a collaboration between musicians in locations as diverse as LA, Iran, the UK, Denmark, Utah, Switzerland, Canada, and Italy.

Working with these musicians – and, throughout the process, learning more about their individual challenges and triumphs – has inspired us in our own musical lives.

This is what Star Shine is all about. You know those people in your life who inspire you, just by being who they are? Each line or two in the song is a reference to a real person who we have found to be admirable or inspirational. If you reflect a for bit, perhaps you can recall details about similar individuals in your own life. They could be close friends, relatives, lovers, or even strangers met in passing… Brief contacts that nonetheless had a deep impact. Yet no matter how long the duration, these relationships all help to shape who we are today.

Which brings us to STAR’s current project— We are currently in the process of recording our first full length CD, and we are reaching out you for help in manifesting our new goal. Every contribution makes a difference, and has huge significance to us. If you are on this site, you are probably a believer in the synergistic power of collective efforts. Your assistance will help our dream of a CD release become a reality.

Like people, music has the power to touch lives in a profound way. A certain song, heard at the right time can serve as a catalyst for powerful personal shift and change. Our goal is that our music serve as more than entertainment. Yes, hopefully it is fun, sexy, and engaging, but STAR’s main mission is to encourage people to live truthfully and courageously. And you’re invited to play along too… We’re all members of the same band. As Sly Stone sang, “Everybody is a STAR…”.
