Hello!
The film Russian Libertine opens up todays Russia and
reveals what lies beneath the official image of this country. In the film writer
and dissident Victor Erofeyev tells us from his point of view about the state
of this super power before its upcoming presidential elections. The
thriller-like story, told by and through Victor, shows us a nation fed up with
old constitutions, but also the hope for change that lies underneath.
And here is the team behind the feature documentary film Russian
Libertine: director Ari Matikainen and producer Liisa Juntunen.
We are now in the editing process, and even if not quite finished yet, we
strongly believe that this film could be one of the next big things in todays
documentary scene. The interest we have already received from individuals from
all over the world encourages us to try to offer the possibility for as many
people as possible to see this film. And for this we need your help: for
finishing the film, getting it ready for big screens and for international
markets.
Please take a little bit of your time to read more about the
film, spread the word, and if possible, support us also with the sum that feels
the most appropriate for your wallet to handle. Thank you already in advance
for any support you can give now for the film! Kiitos!

A few words more about the film
Victor Erofeyev has been in trouble with the government since
the Soviet times. He has been accused of animosity towards Russia in court, and
his opponents see him as the embodiment of Western democracy. What makes writer
Victor Erofeyev want to stay in Russia and fight for democracy and reforms in a
country where they don't seem to find a home? The fight for power takes place
behind the scenes and ostensible elections. While everybody's eyes are on the
Arab countries, Russia is in turmoil. Part of the people and a number of
extremist movements are starting to demand changes that would also benefit
them.
Victor explains us why Putin is popular and why democracy has
such difficulties in settling down in Russia. The film also helps to understand
what are the different directions the country can head for. One shouldnt close
its eyes from Russia, as getting to know the situation of the country helps to
understand its frustrated nation and uncertain future.
Why exactly we need your support?
With this film we want to spread understanding between
different cultures and therefore come one step closer to a world without fear.
This is why Russian Libertine is a film worth seeing by as many people as
possible. But shooting and editing a great film is one thing, and finishing it
for big screen and getting it for the big audiences worldwide is another! Now
we are looking for donations for finishing the film properly and for getting it
ready for promoting it abroad. Our IndigeGoGo budget, altogether 9000$,
consists of these post-production related expenses: translating and subtitling
the film from Russian to Finnish and English (2000$), colour correction of the
film (4000$), music rights(2000$), and promotional materials (flyers and
posters, 1000$).
What you can get by helping us
