Life is About Texture
I am a Byzantine and American trained mosaic sculptor, college professor, public artist, and artist in residence at the ForSight Vision Center of York, PA. My works have been exhibited and recognized nationally and internationally. I currently reside in York County, PA with my daughters Ariel and Tess.
My art work embraces the mosaic form, which quietly relies on the cooperation and interdependency of individual fragmented textures to create a visual narrative. These intricate works allow me the opportunity to share the many voices of my life—family, friends, students, and even strangers. Each work I create becomes an expression of the human spirit, which seeks to understand, overcome and ultimately celebrate the unique and richly complex nature of the human experience.
My life experiences and the diversity of my mosaic training
has provided me with a unique creative approach and style for my mosaic work, which I plan to create and share through the Busy Bee Mosaic Project for children with visual impairments.
