Would you believe that its possible to be disabled by a condition which, despite considerable efforts in 21st century America, takes two years to get diagnosed? And then another two years to find a doctor who knows how to treat it?

Its possible, and its happening. Not just to me but also to millions of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia patients all over the world (Also called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or ME). These ailments have exploded by 200 to 1000% in many countries over the past decade, and are actually different manifestations of the same underlying condition. Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D., who first researched effective treatment, has coined the term CFS/FMS.

I am a single, professional California woman who suddenly found herself mysteriously unable to function and alone. Five years and eight months after I first fell ill, Im still here despite facing the misunderstanding of doctors, insurance companies, tax agencies, even some friends and family.

Now that Im in my final phase of recovery, I must tell my story. I am offering it as an example of CFS/FMS recovery, helping communities understand how to support patients in their midst and contributing something towards the general spiritual and emotional understanding of facing impossible obstacles.

The future includes completing my recovery, a structured online support group where people get specific information on effective therapy, and a residential treatment center where even the janitor understands the special needs of CFS/FMS patients!
