Our Story
Hey there! My name is Connor Crosby and I would like to introduce you to this campaign for my short film, Reality Check.
Reality Check is about a teenage boy named Jake who lives in a dream world that comes crashing down at him. Jake has all of these dreams but can never seem to grasp on to them.
I am a senior in high school. The plans for this video is to create the best work I have made and to use this for both my college portfolio as well as win awards in film festivals. I am not a normal student who uses iMovie and creates skateboarding videos. I am the top of my "Communications Academy" class and have produced many short films and documentaries that have won several awards from around the country. One of my films was even screened at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival and Human Rights Film Festival.
I plan on putting 110% effort into this short film and have a high production value. I have already secured locations including a restaurant called La Boniche in Lowell, MA, which is where Invention of Lying filmed their "date scene." Currently, I own a Canon 60D DSLR camera as well as some other equipment. But, I need your help!
What We Need & What You Get
In order to make this the best it can possibly be, I need your help! As I mentioned before, I do not have much in terms of equipment or money since I am a student. Unfortunately, most of the equipment in our school is outdated and not working properly. Therefore, I need money to rent equipment and purchase food, props, DVD copies, costumes, music composer, and more.
Depending on the perk you choose, you will get things in return. For specific information on each perk, please look at the sidebar.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you cannot afford to donate money to my short film, you can always help in other ways! Please spread the word about this campaign. I am very serious about producing Reality Check and want to reach my goal. So, if you are on Twitter or Facebook or any other social network, I would extremely appreciate a tweet or status update.
Thank you very much for at least looking at my campaign. As I have mentioned several times, even though I am a student, I plan on producing this video with a high production value. I have the story, I just need access to the equipment and resources.
Thanks again,
Connor Crosby :)
