About Me

Pam Uzzell grew up in a small, conservative town in Arkansas and currently lives in, arguably, the most diverse, liberal town in America and manages to call both of these places home. She earned undergraduate degrees in French Literature and Semiotics, even though she never learned exactly what Semiotics is. After landing jobs on large-budget blockbusters such as Godfather III and Terminator 2, she returned to school to get her MFA in Cinema from San Francisco State University in order to work in the no-budget world of documentary. In 2007 she finished her first documentary SOME CALL IT HEAVEN, the story of a small Arkansas oil boom town. Currently, she is beginning another documentary on South Berkeley, with the hopes that she will continue to be able to pay her mortgage in the process.
