Hi! About a year ago i started collecting cute crochet patterns on my website called amigurumipatterns.net. In the past year these patterns have been consulted from all over the world and created many smiling faces, from grandchildren to colleagues, no one can resist the cuteness of amigurumi.
As the site kept on growing, a little idea grew along... All these designers on my website make amazing work, they're so good at what they're doing, i think they deserve to be published. And i wasn't the only one thinking this, many of you seemed to like the idea.
Encouraged by all of you i started collecting patterns that are irresistibly cute and unseen unique. Twelve designers are now teaming up to create an amazing collection.
WHAT'S AMIGURUMI?
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi must be the most fun way to use a crochet hook, with just a little practice you'll make all these amazing designs in a jiffy. If you're not familiar with the techniques, then don't worry. The book will have a few pages explaining all the basics (both in drawings and text) so you won't get lost reading your first pattern.
WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?
The book: It will be a soft cover book of 72 pages in full colour including large pictures and clear written out instructions of all the amigurumi you want to make. There will be basic crochet tutorials for those who take their first steps in amigurumi world.
I've gathered 15 cute animal patterns: Levi the baby Bear, Reco the pig, Zico the Toucan, Tara the Cat, little Tiger, Leila the pony, Johnny the Monkey, Lil Quack the duck, Sartù the Lemur, Bernard the fox, Dakota the dog, Eduardo the donkey, Morton the Moose, naughty mice and Wasabi the bunny (Pictures are available using the tab above)
e-book: The e-book is included in any of the perks. You will receive both a screen resolution pdf of the finished book and a kindle-version with a simplified layout.
The yarn bag: As a little extra i've created a full colour tote bag in biologic cotton that is perfect to store or carry around your collection of yarn. It will have a print of an alter ego of every amigurumi character in the book. The bag will be 42x38cm (16,5x15 inches) with comfortable long handles.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN
We are going to need USD 7500 to get the printer started. Everything you pledge is going towards the printing of the book, which includes royalties for the amazing designers-team, taxes, shipping, paypal & indiegogo fees. When we're done, the book will be in full colour, perfectly bound and professionally shipped to arrive at your doorstep safely.
I LOVE IT! NOW WHAT DO I DO?
First, select your pledge in the right column and click the perk you want. You will be asked to deposit the corresponding amount by paypal (you don' t even need an account). This campaign is a "fixed funding" campaign, this means that if we don't manage to hit our goal by the deadline (September 30), the book won't be printed and your money will safely be returned to you. That's why i need your help! Spread the word in any way you can! Tell your like-minded friends about this project and share it on your favourite social networks.
SHIPPING DETAILS
Worldwide shipping for the books & Tote bag is included in the perk price. We will ship anywhere, no restrictions! Keep in mind that books will be shipped after the printing is done, which - most probably - will be by the end of october. The e-book (both pdf and kindle ebook) will be sent to you at the same moment the printed books are shipped.
This summer has been amazing so far. I have been working with the most talented group of designers, collected the sweetest patterns and learnt so much along the way, it has already been worth the trip. I hope you like the idea, the patterns, the group of crafts-lovers and maybe consider purchasing our very first patternbook.
On behalf of the whole team, i want to thank you all for your support!
