We've reached our $50,000 goal!
The success of this project would not have been possible without the support, the belief and the contribution of my 487 funders. THANK YOU! (please click on update to see the full update and to follow the progress of the XStylus Touch)

What is the XStylus Touch?
The XStylus Touch is a transforming wide-grip heavy weight touch pen for the iPad.
It comes with a discreet, secure, crystal clear magnetic holder so that you can carry both your iPad and your touch pen in style, anytime, anywhere!
The XStylus Touch is available in glossy black + metal, and glossy white + metal.

What kind of user experience does XStylus Touch provide?
XStylus Touch simulates the user experience of a quality (or expensive) fountain pen.
Why the XStylus?
- Bring it everywhere
-
The minimalistic crystal clear magnetic holder allows you to securely carry your XStylus and iPad to meetings, to classes, to rehearsals or to the cafe. The holder has been tested on over 50 popular iPad cases, and its very likely that you can continue to enjoy your cool iPad case with the XStylus Touch.

Responsive pen tip
-
The tip of the XStylus Touch glides smoothly on any glass screen and is optimized for sensitivity so that even the slightest strokes are registered. You will rarely need to retouch the beginning of your strokes with your XStylus Touch. Check out our iPad styli review video (3M Smart Pen vs Bamboo vs XStylus Touch)

Play, create and work longer with an ergonomic wide-grip stylus
-
The bulk weight XStylus Touch is distributed in the triangle formed between your thumb and your index finger in the grip. The combination of weight and grip size minimizes strain to your wrist and forearm, thus allowing you to play, create, and work longer.
- Be cool and original!
-
By supporting this project, you will be part of a small group of people in the world turning an user-oriented idea into a marketable product, hopefully, there'll be at least 2000 of us. We hope to produce a limited quantity of the XStylus Touch at this initial stage. Hope you'll join us in this exciting adventure!

What You Get
$15 per XStylus Touch + Holder for the first 200 funders.
It'd be in either glossy black or glossy white, so it's gonna be a total surprise! :)
$25 per XStylus Touch + Holder for everyone else afterwards.

What We Need
Our project goal is US$50,000 and its the bare minimum amount for me to start the production of the XStylus Touch. This cost includes the cost of...
- wax moulding for the metallic part (pen core),
- injection moulding for the plastic part (pen body),
- labour intensive hand polishing,
- stainless steel screws,
- assembly,
- sourcing and trial of the raw materials,
- the initial prototypes by CNC technology,
- packaging,
- shipping charges etc...
Why is it so expensive?
The metal pen core is made entirely of solid metal and it's pricey as it's made from wax moulding. A method commonly used to make precious metal jewelry. Each piece will then be hand polished to the quality you see in the photos.
Since this piece is the heart and soul (and weight) of this pen, we will "forge" ahead using this iron alloy, which really feels and looks incredible for its weight and polishing.
The XStylus Touch prototype weighs 32 grams. The final product will be very close to this weight, making it one of the heaviest iPad styli on the market. It really feels great in the hand and we've already done all the legwork by choosing the perfect material and the manufacturing process.
So, once we reach our goal, we can kick in production right away. This back and forth process has taken us over 3 months and here are a few photo showing the prototyping process and visits to the factories.

Really, why it is so expensive?
In additional to manufacturing and prototyping cost, should we reach our goal in 60 days, the cost of fundraising is US$3,500 in commission, exchange rate fees and transaction fees. This sum goes to IndieGoGo and Paypal. So, I'd really end up with just around US$46,500 to produce just around 2000 copies of this stylus.
So, that explains why this project is so costly. But if we can get enough people to want XStylus Touch and XStylus holder, we might just be able to materialize this idea into something beautiful and useful.

But wait, what if we dont reach our goal?
Heres what will happen. Since we cant start the project without full funding, we'll have the pay 9% of the amount fundraised to IndieGoGo as a commission and well refund the entire amount to you. So, you can support this project in full confidence. This is our promise to you and it's a risk we are taking.
So, is this a "All-or-Nothing" Funding Model?
Yes, it is. You will receive a full refund if we don't reach our ambitious goal. Promise.
