WYNOT RADIO THEATRE - A 1940something Parody!

WYNOT RADIO THEATRE is a spoof of the Golden Age of radio! You're Grandpa's old time radio show this ain't! Help us get out on the road!

WHAT IS ‘WYNOT RADIO THEATRE’?

5 Actors. 90 Characters. Over 200 props and costumes.

THE WYNOT RADIO THEATRE SHOW is a theatrical SPOOF of the Golden Age of radio – a time when men were men, dames had moxy, and the sound of adventure filled the air waves.

It’s fast! It’s funny! And it’s one-of-a-kind!

The Colorado Springs Gazette calls it a ‘hilarious send-up of old-time radio’, complete with twistedly nostalgic commercials,   hysterical ‘off-air’ actor interaction and audience participation. Your Grandpa's Old Time Radio Show this ain't!

We mix nostalgia with in-your-face comedy to create a funny, fast paced, and wildly entertaining evening of comic theatre.

Presented as a "live" broadcast, the WYNOT RADIO THEATRE SHOW puts you in the studio with the cast as they present this 1940-something variety show that includes the RICK LUGER:  PRIVATE DICK detective “radio” series onstage in all its old-time-radio glory!

Each show includes official sponsors (fake products that parody the commercial sponsors of the classic radio broadcasts), an  on-going short serial show hand-picked by the audience each night, a game show segment, audience participation, and more visual and  verbal gags than you can shake a microphone at.

WYNOT RADIO is a “home-grown touring theatrical comedy show”. We know, it’s a mouthful. We build and design everything ourselves. We believe the strength of our comic art lies in the attention to detail. WE’RE NUTS ABOUT THIS STUFF!

PRODUCTION HISTORY

WYNOT RADIO THEATRE started in the summer of 2001 with creator Cory Moosman. The original idea was to spoof the things he loved: Old Time Radio, and 40’s noir detectives.

From 2001 – 2009 the show grew and developed into a working live theatrical show. Regional runs in Southern Colorado, the Boulder Fringe Festival, and at schools and banquet rooms all over the state have furthered the development of the show as a full out “in the studio” vintage comedy experience.

In 2010 Producing Partner, co-writer, co-director, and co-madman Sammy Gleason came onboard to help further the “dream” of radio comedy for the masses. Since then WYNOT RADIO THEATRE has been enjoying success as an award-winning comedy troupe, and is continuing to entertain and enthrall audiences everywhere. And we’re not done yet!

THE IMPACT or “WHY FUNNY MATTERS”

We’re passionate about the power of comedy. Funny matters! It’s everything we believe in! And nothing feels better than laughter!

It’s our goal to take the WYNOT RADIO THEATRE SHOW across the country to give the gift of live “1940-something” radio comedy to audiences everywhere! We want to come to YOUR theatres and fill the seats with all of you – our news friends! But in order to fill those seats – WE HAVE TO GET THERE!

WHAT WE NEED:

We build just about everything: props – costumes – sets – graphics – sound – music….BUT we’re not any good at building an actual working vehicle. Hmmmmmmm.

We’re endeavoring to raise $10,000 so we can purchase a safe, reliable, and efficient mode of transportation: A gently used PASSENGER VAN and a new 5x8 BOX TRAILER.

This will give us a way to get from “here to there” with all our equipment, sets, costumes, and props in tow – while having a vehicle that we can travel in – which will cut down on the number of vehicles we currently use to tour – thereby reducing our carbon footprint! (I know, sounds like we’re jumping on the eco-bandwagon, but we really do care about this stuff.)

We are NOT a non-profit organization. We don’t receive government grants or subsidies. We don't receive financial support from corporate sponsors. All of our work is produced by us, for our fans, with the support we get through ticket and merchandise sales. Every penny is reinvested right back into the company to develop future shows. In order to keep doing what we do to spread the gift of comedy, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

WHAT YOU GET (THE PERKS):

We’ve put together some real nice stuff for ya! Just take a look!

FAITHFUL LISTENER:

For a contribution of $1-$24 dollars, you’ll become a FAITHFUL LISTENER, get your name mentioned in an on-line “Thank-You” on our website and Facebook page – AND get listed on the exterior of the actual vehicle! KINDA’ LIKE A BADGE OF HONOR!

STUDIO AUDIENCE:

Contribute $25-$99 dollars to become a bona-fide member of our STUDIO AUDIENCE. You’ll receive A WYNOT Radio Button grab-bag (an easy way to publicly show your support!), a set of “Rick Luger Jr. Pvt. Dick Club Credentials” (great for kiddie parties!), and all the FAITHFUL LISTENER loot as well!

INTREPID SOUNDMAN:

Grease that squeaky wheel with $100-$499 dollars, and we’ll call you an INTREPID SOUNDMAN – and you’ll become the proud owner of an autographed copy of WYNOT RADIO’s first comedy CD, “From the Vaults of WYNOT RADIO” (sure to impress!) – And all the previously mentioned gravy!

ON-AIR TALENT:

Dig a little deeper and graduate to the ranks of ON-AIR TALENT. With a contribution of $500-$999 you’ll receive a one-of-a-kind caricature portrait in the style of our very own WYNOT RADIO THEATRE logo! And while you’re at it, why not enjoy all the stuff the other folks got?

(NOTE: This perk requires three clear, portrait style pictures to be sent in upon completion of the campaign so we can make your caricature look…well…like you!)

PRESIDENT OF BROADCASTING:

Wanna have it all?  Desperate for your chance at immortality? Then contribute $1000 or MORE, and become a PRESIDENT OF BROADCASTING! Have your name creatively written into a future WYNOT RADIO THEATRE show. You’ll get the one-of-a-kind caricature! You’ll get the comedy CD! YOU’LL get the buttons! AND EVERYTHING ELSE!!!

(The proof is in the printing! You’ll receive a signed and framed copy of your script page sometime in calendar year 2013!)

But say we don’t reach our entire $10,000 goal. Well, we still need a vehicle and a trailer, so whatever is raised will go toward that. Like we said, the only thing we can’t build is a van and a trailer.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

We would LOVE a financial contribution! However, helping us get the word out is another great way to help us reach our goal.  That sounds crazy, you say?  Well, if all our WYNOT RADIO friends and fans gave even $20-$30, we’d be well on our way to reaching our goal!  So why not help WYNOT out today?
