Hope everyone is good!
So there is where I am currently with my IR cam development, here’s a before and after (the after image has been changed to monochrome). Not happy with the amount of noise on the after image, so I’m looking into bigger sensors or possible adjusting the wavelength on my filter. The current filter is custom made, more details on that soon.
IR photography is tricky to get right, I want to make sure that the price is low but the photos are great. I’m not just sticking a filter on a cheap camera!
What do you lot think?
p.s. I also have another! secret camera in the works…
this really is sold out so there’s no use contacting me to ask, if you’re interested in future projects:
everythings going well on production and I’m on target to start shipping at the end of June.
Hope everyone is well!
If you haven’t, check out some preview photos of the IR on the facebook page: www.facebook.com/fisheyedigicam
okay so more information on the IR cam. I’m not reading to release the full spec but here are some of the features to expect. I’ve developed this for myself again, just because I wanted a camera that did these and couldn’t find one. Let me know what you think:
- designed from the ground up to accommodate IR photography, this isn’t a homebrew hacked camera.
- HD IR video
- 2-12 megapixel (the insides of the camera are similar to my fisheye)
- IR timelapse photography
- new design with viewfinder
- Ideally I want f=5.5
- SD card storage
- film style pictures
- affordable price!
- I’m testing filters im going for somewhere between 720-950 depending on the price for the final product.
I’ve been working on this for the past 4 months, really looking forward to showing you. I’ll have some pictures up next week.
Also, every pound that you spend on this camera will go somewhere to the development of the product and I’ll be able to show you exactly where your money is going. I’m going to keep the cost down as much as possible, but I’m going to aim to sell around 250 cameras to make it possible this time – I really want to get this product up, it’s something that hasnt been seen before.
Greg
so the next camera is at a stage that I’m happy about and I want to announce it on here first:
the next camera is going to be called ‘red planet’ (working name..) and inspired by Ektrachrome IR…
More details soon…
