Our project in 3 sentences...
Watch the short Video: The Project in 43 Seconds
1. We, Chris (Designer) and Johanna (Psychologist), are going on big journey for five month offside typical tourist routes, to India, New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia.
2. On that trip we will interview and photograph locals and interesting people to ask them for their philosophies of life, words of wisdom and short stories.
3. In the end we will combine our collected material into a unique and beautiful book that we’d love to print properly and that hopefully helps to make the world get a bit smaller!

And in Detail...
What is the project all about
In December we are going on a big journey. We will travel across India, New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia.
We are planning on going offside the typical tourist routes to have a more original experience. That means that we will explore India via local trains, then go walking and hitchhiking in New Zealand, after that we will drive an old Van on the West Coast of Australia and at the end of our journey we will explore the Indonesian Islands via motorcycles and boats. Everything is already booked and paid for so none of the money that we are collecting here will be spent on our travels!
We'd love to share our travel experiences with you in the form of a printed book filled with quotes, short stories and words of wisdom from people we meet on the road.
These quotes will be accompanied by a number of portraits and photographies of the specific situation in which we gathered the words.
As of now we like to call it Words Away
We are very sure to meet interesting and extraordinary people on our trip. We will be carrying a notebook with us wherever we go so that we`re able to give those people we meet a chance to leave a personal quote/message as (in the form of) words of wisdom that they learned in their life's or on their travels.
In the end we will have a book packed full of individual words and philosophies that we think is worth sharing.
Who we are
“Johanna is a psychologist, crazy about culture and because of her occupation obsessed on different people and their lives.”
“Chris is an artdirector for web and print media, he enjoys photography and to play music. He loves to create new things”
We both are very passionate about traveling in general and already visited places like Nepal, Tibet, Israel, Korea, China, North America and of course since we are from Europe, most of our own continent.
What We Need & What You Get
We calculated with the goal of 8000$ to be able to create a product of great value. We want the book to be of high quality and material so it will be beautiful to own or to give away as a unique present. The goal of 8000$ enables us to print the amount of books so that a single book can be offered at a fair price.
The money will be used for the project and processment fees, printing the first edition of the book, the postcards and calendars and also for paying the shipping costs. Additionally we will set up a website/blog to inform about the project and an online-shop for the future products.
The book (economy friendly print and paper) will be in the typical format of a notebook 4 x 6 inches) and it will come with a book mark.
Note: We are running a fixed funding campaign, that means if we don't succeed, you will get your money back.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you like our project please share it on Facebook, Twitter, or wherever you like. But still buying the book (with 25$ we set the bar very low and there's even the shipping included) would help us the most to make it happen!
If we succeed it still would be lovely of you to help us to putting the word out on the street. So please stay in touch with our updates.
The following pictures are scribbles for the layout of the book. We invented some situations to display the general idea.
