Willamette Futures is a documentary film on Oregon's Willamette River. The film's goals are to celebrate the natural beauty and ecological potential of this river and its watershed and showcase the creative community of people who are working to restore the Willamette. Our hope is to help catalyze a more informed and inspired discussion about the future we want for this important river and its tributaries. Take a look at our project video to get a glimpse at the spirit and stories of this film.
To finish our Willamette Futures documentary film project, we are looking to raise $15,000 from individual donations, which will be generously matched by a local private donor to provide the $30,000 which will see us through to completion. These funds will be used to support the scripting, editing, music and archival licensing, and initial promotion of this not-for-profit film.
Willamette Futures is being produced by Corvallis-based Freshwaters Illustrated, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising public awareness of freshwater life, science, and conservation through educational media. The film has received generous support from the Meyer Memorial Trust, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, The National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, The Willamette National Forest, and the Bureau of Land Management, and has had strong participation from many of the Willamette Basin's watershed councils, land trusts, conservation organizations, and landowners.
