HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ASKED, OR ASKED YOURSELF THE QUESTION ... "WHERE IS HOME?"

The meaning of the word HOME brings up different things for different people. Is HOME a place? a feeling? or something more? Whatever HOME is to each one of us, the search for belonging, understanding and community is a UNIVERSAL one.

But how has the search for HOME changed in a GLOBALIZING world, where more and more people are able to travel and move?

If you've ever felt out of place and struggled with the question, "Where is home?" then this is a film we believe can inspire you to thrive through your restlessness and begin to understand that the search for HOME is ultimately a journey of self-discovery.

WHAT THIS FILM IS ABOUT: 

"WHERE IS HOME?" is a film exploring the concept of HOME, raising questions on what defines how important HOME is to each individual human being. 

The documentary explores the existential quest for HOME through the eyes of those who have grown up moving between different countries. Known as Third Culture Kids, these people have never had one fixed place to call home, and often question if HOME means something beyond a place we were born in, or grew up in, or what our ethnicity or passport is.

The meaning of HOME is something that travelers, dreamers, poets, philosophers and have all pondered, and this film tells the stories of five Third Culture Kids from around the world who both juggle and struggle with the meaning of HOME. By sharing their conclusions, we hope you will be moved to see that the journey home begins as a search for self-acceptance and ends only when we look inside ourselves.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE FILM:

Aga (Director/Producer) is a Third Culture Kid who dreams, speaks and tells stories in 7 different languages. Nomadism is part of her nature, but the restlessness she feels is something she's spent most of her life struggling with! Her mission for the last 4 years has been to inspire everyone to connect with themselves and to live life fully and authentically.

Paul (Producer) is a two-time Canadian Emmy Award-winning film and television producer-director with more than 300 films to his credit. His award-winning feature "Prom Night in Mississippi", starring Morgan Freemann, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His latest work, "The Last White Knight" recently premiered at TIFF.

Alethea (Production Assistant) is a bona fide Third Culture Kid (4 different countries and 8 different cities). She is the type of person who gets herself into adventures without meaning to, which is how she found herself as part of the "Where is Home?" team.

WHERE WE ARE WITH THE FILM NOW:

We're thrilled to report that we're nearly done filming and we're going to post production!

We have secured a distribution in North America. Our 8 min film has been watched by close to 40,000 people on youtube,

Our goal is to have the film completed by Summer 2013.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:

We're almost there! We believe in raising important questions and, we've invested our heart, soul and personal savings into this project. Now we are reaching out to you to help us take it to the finish line! We believe that this is a story that needs to be told as well as the start of a movement to connect the shared experiences of a more and more mobile generation.

WHAT WILL YOUR MONEY PAY FOR:

We need to create a film that can compete theatrically, if it is to have significant impact and that means being technically high quality. We  need to Shoot the climactic scenes of the film (we're leaving the best for last) -- Editing -- Professional Narrator -- Proper Colour Correction --  Music Composition - -- Film Graphics

CAN WE EXCEED OUR GOAL?

Yes! The more money we raise, the more quickly we can finish the film and the faster we can share it with the world. If we exceed our financial goal we'll be able to bring on a celebrity narrator to carry the message further and launch a community engagement program that will ensure the film reaches all corners of the globe.
