The Early Childhood Center aims to provide children and families with holistic, culturally-relevant care and education. The Center will focus explicitly on language and social-emotional development to prepare children and families to excel.
While we develop our business plan and begin recruiting major financial support from Chicago's philanthropic community, we're hoping to raise awareness and funding for the initial start-up costs including the purchase and design of a website, printing of business cards and other marketing materials, as well as the legal fees associated with filing as a 501c3.
Who we are
- Kelly Powers (Executive Director, Operations) - former 1st grade teacher, current Managing Director at Teach For America, 6 years of experience in Early Childhood Education
- Jesse Swakow (Executive Director, Education) - former Pre-K teacher, current Director at Teach For America coaching Pre-K teachers, 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education
The Long-Term Impact
Our ultimate aim is to build a network of early childhood centers that provide high-quality care and education and family support services. The results will prove, unequivocally, that all children can achieve at the highest level and compete for opportunities in their future when they are provided with the highest quality early care and preschool education.
High-quality Early Childhood Education has the potential to equip children and families with transferable knowledge and skills they can use to overcome challenges in their futures and realize their dreams. Without access to Early Childhood Education, children are at-risk for struggling with the language, literacy and social-emotional skills they desperately need to succeed in life.
We Thank You!
We recognize that launching a high-quality early childhood center takes a village of committed individuals - thank you for your partnership in this launch. For some more tangible tokens of our appreciation, please note the perks on the right!
