WaterStop Carts are mobile units that purify municipal water; our intent is to replace the need for bottled water. Each mobile cart carries 50 gallons of water or the equivalent of 400-16 oz bottles of water (refilling a cart’s tank is as easy as using a common hose). Carts use the same filtration system used in bottled water for purity as well as taste and have a cooling system. (One note about the video, it mentions using nano silver to line the plumbing...we will not be using this unsustainable substance.)
Hello, my name is Nan Harris and I sold my co-op in
finance WaterStop Carts LLC, a socially responsible, for profit business. Why?
Because our world is facing a clean water
crisis and it makes me angry that the bottled water industry has taken life’s
essential element and made a commodity of it! You can live longer
without food then you can without drinking water. We have designed a new delivery system with
the intent of replacing the unsustainable use of bottled water (we will not be
selling water, only the carts, filters and bottles).
As consumers we are paying between 300 to 4,000 times the costs of tap water
when we buy bottled water. The average American spends over $250 a year on
bottled water. We also end up paying for the cost to our environment
of carbon released and the oil and water used in manufacturing and transportation.
are we paying this? Because bottled water is just easier to find. Trying
to refill bottles from public sources is almost impossible and almost always
distasteful. We can change this!!!
How do our carts solve this problem?
“Accessibility through Mobility”is the foundation of our thinking at WaterStop. Our mobile water carts go where people go, venues of all kinds. Sometimes we just say it’s “water on wheels”.The cart uses municipal water sources and the same filtration system used by bottled water companies. It delivers purified, fresh tasting water, it's like bottled water without the bottle. Refilling the tank, which holds 50 gallons or 400 – 16 oz bottles of water, is as easy as using a common garden hose. A cooling system is built in to keep the water just above room temperature. Standard filters are easy to change and commonly found in hardware stores like Home Depot (WaterStop will provide specialized filters in case of local water issues due to aging infrastructure or contamination)
As mentioned in the video, digital banners are mounted on the cart and provide sponsorship opportunities so the cart can pay for itself. In the second prototype, a video monitor will be added for more sponsorship, entertainment and educational opportunities.
The Second Generation cart will also have Wifi so the cart becomes not only a Water Stop but a Hot Spot as well. A solar tower will be added to extend the battery life. Eventually, when solar can produce enough energy to run our mobile cart, we will convert to solar completely. Two notes: the completed look of the cart will have a modern, sleek design and our website will not go up until we have completed the beta-test.
Why Are We Crowd Funding?
Our purpose in raising more funds is to start designing the next generation cart. We will use these funds to build five carts for a beta-test at 5 US schools that have lead problems or other issues in their drinking water supply, a common problem in all 50 states. From this beta-test we will be able to complete the engineering of the next generation cart.
Did you know that children in the US have to buy bottled water from vending machines in our Public Schools? In 2010 Congress passed a mandate that all public schools provide FREE water in all eating areas by 2014. So far there has been no progress on this issue that doesn't cost our underfunded schools significant money. Our carts provide the answer. The sponsorship opportunities on the carts will replace any potential lost income from selling bottled water in vending machines.
We are offering vendors who sell bottled water,
a way to replace lost income:
WaterStop will also make available to vendors and individuals our collapsible, reusable bottle to replace lost income from bottled water sales. Vendors can sell the collapsible bottles and offer free refills. This offer of a free refill will also bring customers back with the likelihood of another purchase. As seen in the video; the bottle is BPA free, dishwasher safe, good for 1,000 opening and closings and can be labeled by businesses for marketing purposes. We will also make these bottles available to the public, eventually designing our own line of collapsible, reusable bottles.
Manufacturing the Cart:
One of our partners, an environmental lawyer who contracts with the Department of Defense, (the DOD has expressed interest in WaterStop Carts for their installations), has established the likelihood of our carts being manufactured on tribal lands in the U.S.. Newly built manufacturing facilities gives everyone, sellers and buyers, a terrific tax break and creates much needed jobs.
Our Ultimate Goal:
To make mobile water carts available around the world. Design changes will be made to the units to adapt to various countries terrain, needs and local materials. In remote areas, like isolated villages, the cart may be a transport vehicle for already clean water. All carts will be manufactured in the country where it is selling. When a power source is limited or doesn't exist, as in crisis management of disasters, or in remote areas, a hand crank will be added to run the cart.

There is no doubt that our innovation will be knocked off!
We want to stay ahead of this eventuality.
We would greatly appreciate it if you would pass this site address onto any like-minded people you may have on your email list; but please, not anyone working in the bottled water industry. They’re not going to be happy with WaterStop Carts! :)
Our intent is to avoid traditional publicity until the company is ready to enter the marketplace. This means we have a number of exclusive contracts in place with organizations like the DOD, School Districts and Sustainable Organizations like the Green Sports Alliance, Green Lodging, and The National Parks Service: Green Parks Plan etc.
Thank you for your contribution to our efforts and becoming a member of our family, I look forward to sending you updates soon!
